Welcome! π
It's been a rough few weeks, y'all, from the news (local, US, and international alike, to many friends and acquaintances I know who are struggling, to a new COVID wave hitting a number of cities. Make sure you're taking care of yourself in addition to your communities, please. β€οΈ
As this week marks the start of June (how?!), I'm looking ahead to Q3 planning, a few events (including Orbit's Nexus event which I recorded a panel for last week!), and trying out some new experiments with my team. What are you looking forward to? As always, I'd love to hear!
Best,
Mary (@mary_grace)

The way we treat people matters
In community, it matters that people feel valued, not used. It matters that people feel heard, not drowned out. It matters that people feel respected, not dismissed. The way we treat people matters.
Patience is Key
A community builder's biggest and most valuable trait?

Help! Three Questions Community Managers Need to Ask When They're Struggling
If you've been around for more than a few issues of DevRel Weekly, you'll likely know that I'm passionate about preventing burnout in myself as well as others, particularly those in the DevRel industry. This week, Lindsey Leesmann gives us 3 items to consider in order to better define our community needs. That way, we'll be able to more effectively lay out our request for help when we need it.
Bonus: Kurt Kemple also walks through some of the necessary skills for getting buy-in from stakeholders in this article from a few months back.
