Welcome! đź‘‹
It's been a tough week, DevRel Weekly fam. I hope you're all safe and have the support you need.
Let's dig into the content released in the past few days: lots of great discussions, good reference guides to member onboarding and developer experience, and a slew of new podcast episodes to keep you occupied while you get some fresh air.
Take care of yourselves, friends - mentally, physically, and emotionally. I'll see you next week.
Best,

Should we be responsible for the full developer journey?
This tweet from Vera Tiago was a conversation starter this week.
DevRel should be responsible for the Developer Journey, from Awareness to Advocacy. You should be able to measure and identify where developers are getting stuck and make it your priority
What are your thoughts?
Evolving? Yes! New? No.
Unpopular opinion (maybe): Community isn’t the new anything. It’s been around longer than some of us have been alive & the people who have laid the foundation for this work long before we came along don’t get the credit they deserve. Is community evolving? Yes. Is it new? Hardly.
Value Quality over Quantity
The person who talks the most is the most likely to become the leader.
Data: regardless of intelligence and expertise, groups elevate those who command the most airtime.
It's time to stop rewarding people for dominating the discussion, and start valuing quality over quantity.
and a follow-up from Vanessa Paech:
Digital versions of this play out in online communities too. Volume does not equal quality but is too often canonised as value.

Jobs 👩‍💻
Developer Advocate
TileDB is looking for it’s first Developer Advocate! Spun out of MIT and Intel Labs in 2017, built by a world class team and backed by high-profile investors the company is rapidly growing. We are pioneering the industry’s “universal database,” a database that goes beyond tables and SQL to handle and analyze any data format, file, model or dashboard with any tool at global scale and which delivers unprecedented ease for data sharing, collaboration and monetization. Bold? Yes. Reality? Absolutely.
Developer Advocate
So many DevRel jobs out there. Why Retool?
- Existing strategy and reasonable expectations: craft your charter to do what you do best, show results, and stay sane
- A respectful, collaborative, and highly functional team, including community, docs, DevEx folks
- A product revered by developers and a highly engaged community: harnessing the love is basically low hanging fruit
Senior Developer Advocate
At FusionAuth, we help developers secure their users' data and build applications faster by providing a secure, flexible, API-first, dev-friendly authentication and authorization server. We are bootstrapped, profitable, and seeking Developer Advocates to promote FusionAuth’s solution through education as well as to participate in our growing developer community. Your work will educate the world about auth (often a confusing and frustrating topic), extend our reach, and make devs' lives easier.
