What's the difference between metrics and analytics? I'm so glad Shivani Shah tackled this topic in a recent article, because I feel like this is a common problem we can all get tripped up on. It's not enough to just gather the numbers... we have to analyze them in order to understand why the numbers are what they are. Shivani gives a few examples of why this is important as well as suggestions on how to conduct this analysis.

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly: Inexperienced Leadership in Developer Relations

For teams looking for DevRel leadership, it can be difficult to find someone with the exact qualifications you're looking for (unicorns don't actually exist, much to my disappointment). However, before you jump to hiring someone completely outside of DevRel, take a look at this blogpost from Kelly Andrews which details some of the danger that potentially lies down this path. Some of the issues can be avoided, as he observes, but you'll need to be prepared to fill some gaps if you do decide to go this route.
