Find the sweet spot
A lot of communities struggle for two reasons: - they don't have business alignment - they forget/or don't emphasize the needs of the community members
The sweet spot is where you look at both equally and find opportunities for intersection. Where can they feed each other?

- attend many conferences
- have an abundance of great connections

Keep tweaking your strategies, but also... know when to stop
One bitter-sweet thing I've discovered in managing communities is that everyday is different. Thus, there is a need to keep tweaking and tweaking your strategies till you find what works most of the time.
Dear CM,
Not everyone in your community will be outspoken. Some are just spectators.
Not everyone will engage.
Don't hit yourself hard thinking your strategy sucks.

Setting up For Success in Your Next Role: Where to start?
Looking for a new job, or perhaps you just started one? Either way, this recap of Wesley Faulkner's talk from a recent DevRelX Community Session is a good place to start. It's chock full of questions to ask, steps to define, tips on how to position yourself properly, and more.
What is intelligent community growth?
Many of us have heard of "community-led growth" as it's gained popularity over the last few years. But Common Room has taken this idea to the next level, introducing the idea of intelligent community growth with the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies. This was a fascinating introduction to the concept. Note: yes, there's a bit of a sales pitch at the end, but generally speaking, this is simply an informative, product-agnostic resource.
Should we hire junior developer advocates?
Whether or not DevRel teams should hire junior developer advocates has long been a debate. There are arguments on both sides, from lack of experience (don't hire them) to the need to train a new generation of advocates (do hire them).
Rizèl Scarlett posted a compelling argument for hiring junior advocates, and makes the very fair point that instead of debating whether or not we should hire them, we should spend that energy to "strategize how to hire and support them."
